Identify the audience, agreement and exact service option
Optus Wholesale presents Evolve Voice as high-capacity SIP trunking with bidirectional calling, Australian geographic DIDs and local number portability. The current enterprise Standard Form of Agreement separately lists Optus Evolve Voice as a current Evolve service option supplied by Optus Networks Pty Limited. The standard-agreement index says those agreements do not apply to wholesale customers, so establish the customer type, application, agreement and legal service name before reusing either description.
Keep Evolve Voice distinct from CSP-Connect, Call Termination Services, Total Access Services, messaging, Evolve DirectLine and other Evolve options. CSP-Connect is described as a two-way carrier interconnect service; that is not evidence for an Evolve Voice trunk.
Documented service facts
Reviewed 2026-10-27. Compare SIP trunk services →
SIP authentication
Not verifiedPublic records do not establish one universal credential, certificate or source-address model. The current application and OM.37683 govern.
SIP registration
Not verifiedA universal REGISTER requirement, registrar, proxy, expiry or Contact policy was not established for every Evolve Voice design.
Numbers and inbound delivery
DocumentedWholesale and current terms document Australian geographic DIDs, number provisioning and local number portability. Provider programming, PBX match and completed calls remain unverified.
Diversion and dual service
DocumentedCurrent terms distinguish Emergency Diversion, Dual Voice Trunk and Dual Exchange Homing. Entitlement, configuration, trigger, call result, feature preservation and restoration remain unverified.
Agreement, access and handoff
DocumentedEnterprise terms require Evolve IP VPN plus managed or customer router support and define different service-delivery points. Wholesale scope is separate; selected feasibility and access remain unverified.
Signaling and media
Not verifiedThe public records do not establish universal signaling targets, transport, codecs, DTMF or media ranges. OM.37683 and observed packets govern.
Fax and T.38
DocumentedCurrent terms include T.38 fax channels within application-specified Active Channels. Selection, negotiation, fallback and completed pages remain unverified.
Transport and media protection
Not verifiedNo universal signaling or media encryption profile was established for every Evolve Voice design. Application, OM.37683 and observations govern.
Channels and concurrency
DocumentedWholesale material describes a ten-channel minimum with one-channel additions; enterprise terms use application-specified Active Channels. Do not transfer one contract scope to another.
Emergency-service evidence
Not verifiedThe reviewed public material does not establish one account's emergency address, presented identity, callback, power or alternate-calling readiness.
Pricing, term and availability
Not verifiedCurrent application, pricing table, access method, term and feature selections govern. No universal public price or availability was established.
PBX, support and service levels
DocumentedCurrent terms require PBX configuration to OM.37683 and make availability depend on access and application; Evolve Voice is excluded from the CSG. This does not prove case response or restoration.
SMS and MMS
Not verifiedOptus Wholesale lists messaging as a separate service family. The reviewed Evolve Voice records do not establish SMS or MMS on trunk numbers.
Bind the related service, router model and handoff to the application
The November 1, 2025 Evolve terms say enterprise Evolve Voice must be acquired with Evolve IP VPN and supported by either Evolve Managed Router Service or a customer-managed router. For SIP, the managed-router service-delivery point is the Ethernet interface of the Optus router; with a customer-managed router, it is the NTU port to that router. Customer responsibility begins between the PBX and the documented service-delivery point.
The wholesale page also advertises voice-and-data convergence or voice-only delivery. Do not collapse that wholesale description into the enterprise prerequisite. Record the governing application, access, router responsibility, service-delivery point, addressing, routing and support boundary.
Treat PBX settings and compatibility as controlled evidence
The current terms require the PBX to be configured according to Optus Technical Description OM.37683, available from Optus on request, and warn that incorrect configuration can cause call or feature failures or delay. Public pages do not establish one registrar, authentication model, proxy, transport, codec set, DTMF method or media range for every Evolve Voice service.
The 2017 factsheet and older SIP Trunking paper provide dated product and educational context only. Statements such as historical support for any SIP-compliant IP PBX are not current compatibility evidence. Confirm the exact PBX model, software, approved design and loaded configuration against the current application and OM.37683.
Keep channels, numbers and fax states separate
The wholesale page says channels can be added one at a time after a minimum ten-channel purchase. The enterprise terms instead define Active Channels as the voice, non-voice and T.38 fax channels specified in the application. The wholesale minimum is not transferred to an enterprise order, and neither statement establishes active dialogs, call attempts per second, bandwidth, PBX resources or completed fax pages.
The current terms provision numbers according to the application and describe Direct In-Dial and local number portability. Allocation, port authorization, provider programming, inbound attempt, PBX receipt, route match and completed call remain separate checkpoints.
Distinguish diversion and dual-trunk options
The current terms define Dual Voice Trunk as two Evolve Voice services with individual access and the same voice switch, and Dual Exchange Homing as two services with individual access and different voice switches. Emergency Diversion is a separate optional process that Optus may apply when failure occurs beyond the service-delivery point or on the relevant Evolve IP VPN or managed router service.
Customers must keep diversion destinations correct and operating, secure the control password and request start or cessation through the documented Optus process. Optus does not guarantee that all features remain available during diversion. An accepted request is not proof that every number moved, a destination alerted, a call completed or normal routing was restored.
Make availability, emergency and commercial claims application-specific
The current terms exclude Evolve Voice from the Customer Service Guarantee and make service availability dependent on the selected access method and application. That does not mean there is no support or service commitment; preserve the applicable fault-restoration targets, excluded outages and service levels from the governing agreement.
Public sources reviewed here do not establish one account's emergency address, presented identity, callback, power or alternate-calling readiness. Validate those through approved non-live processes and do not place an uncoordinated emergency call. Obtain a current application, quote and pricing table rather than inferring universal price, availability or compatibility.
