Identify the exact B2 system before counting capacity
Record regional product number and DECT band, one- or two-base topology, handset inventory, repeater inventory, installed firmware, provisioning owner, PBX or service and busy-hour requirement. A label that says B2 does not prove dual-cell pairing, compatible radio region or approved service.
Keep bases, handsets, subscription profiles, SIP registrations, active calls and external trunk capacity as different quantities.
Keep system totals and per-base limits separate
HP compares B2 as up to 20 handsets with up to 10 calls in single-cell and 20 in dual-cell mode. The parameter reference also describes a maximum of 10 concurrent narrowband calls for one B2 base. These are documentation ceilings, not measured capacity.
Record the negotiated codecs and active calls on each base during acceptance. Do not convert a two-base system total into a per-handset or wideband guarantee.
Prove dual-cell pairing, assignment and registration in order
Preserve the identity and role of each base, pairing state, handset-to-base assignment, service profile, SIP registration and selected PBX contact. IP reachability or a visible handset name does not prove that the intended identity is registered or that an inbound call reaches it.
After any authorized correction, retest the exact inbound and outbound identity without resetting unrelated handsets.
Survey radio and repeater paths under representative load
Published indoor and outdoor range values remain environment-dependent. Walk required routes with normal doors, walls, shelving, machinery, people and interference represented. For repeaters, record parent base, placement, overlap, serving path and busy-hour calls.
Association, handover, an intact SIP dialog and intelligible two-way media remain separate results.
Bind provisioning and PVOS-L DECT to observed state
HP lists PVOS-L DECT 8.0.13 build 8.0.13.0002 released July 2026. Preserve provider approval, exact artifacts, current and target builds for bases, handsets and repeaters, maintenance window, backup and rollback.
A downloaded package or reboot does not prove that every component updated or that a registration, network-recovery or audio symptom cleared.
Accept the complete B2 workflow
Test cold boot, provisioning, single- or dual-cell operation, handset assignment, registration, inbound and outbound calling, hold, transfer, voicemail indication, repeaters where used, movement paths and both audio directions. Use provider-approved emergency validation only.
No B2 hardware, radio system, account, call or emergency workflow was tested for this reference.
