Translate headline scale into four separate inventories

Record base count, handset or subscription assignments, SIP registrations and concurrent-call requirements independently. HP publishes up to 254 bases, 1,000 registrations and 2,000 system calls, while the family comparison separately identifies 30 registrations and 8 calls per base.

None of these ceilings establishes radio coverage, codec capacity, PBX or carrier entitlement at a specific site.

Prove primary registration and multicell membership

The administration guide places voice-service registration on one primary base. Preserve the primary identity, secondary membership, ChainID, neighbor and synchronization state before changing registration or rebuilding the system.

A reachable secondary base or associated handset does not prove healthy primary registration, synchronization or routing for a particular line.

Survey coverage, overlap and the synchronization chain

Record planned and observed serving cells, overlap, synchronization source and the transition point for every required movement path. Include normal doors, lifts, concrete, metal, shelving, machinery, people and interference.

A signal bar, IP ping or stationary call does not prove that a handover occurred or that both media directions survived it.

Keep switching, paging and recovery evidence bounded

Inventory switch ports, PoE sources, VLANs, addressing, multicast dependencies, routing and clock ownership for every base. The 8.0.13 notes identify resolved network-recovery and excessive-multicast cases; the release record does not prove the installed system contains the fix.

After one authorized change, retest base discovery, registration, paging where used, new calls, established calls and return to the preferred cell.

Control component firmware as a coordinated lifecycle

Record base, handset and repeater builds separately. HP lists 8.0.13 artifacts for B4, Rove 30, Rove 40 and R8 in July 2026. Preserve approval, artifact identity, maintenance window, charger state, staged order, backup and rollback.

A completed base update is not proof that every handset or repeater updated, rejoined or resolved the original fault.

Retest one reproducible multicell workflow

Use the B4 roaming diagnostic to correlate serving cell, synchronization, registration, negotiated codec, signaling and each media direction for one controlled walk. Repeat under representative load.
