HP Poly Edge E300: eight keys, wired network and PVOS evidence

Keep eight physical keys, 32 paginated assignments, wired-only networking, USB-C, provisioning and installed PVOS state separate.

Reviewed 2026-10-24Current HP Poly Edge E family, exact-model data sheets, PVOS 8.5.0 administration guide, PVOS 8.6.0 user guide, PVOS 8.6.x release record, model setup hubs, quick-start guides and HP-hosted radio matrix were reviewed October 24, 2026. HP lists PVOS 8.6.1 with an August 2026 release date, but a current release record is not proof of the installed image, provider approval, completed update or resolved deployment. Model label, product number, radio hardware, physical keys, paginated assignments, SIP identities, feature keys, expansion-module positions, power source, provisioning owner, installed firmware, registration, signaling, media and accepted call behavior remain separate evidence. No phone, label, hardware revision, firmware image, checksum, configuration, Poly Lens tenant, provisioning server, switch port, PoE source, Ethernet path, Wi-Fi network, Bluetooth accessory, expansion module, headset, SIP account, FreePBX or Asterisk system, registration, packet, call, media stream, emergency workflow, price, inventory, compatibility, certification result, support entitlement or vendor response was inspected or testedIntermediateDocumentation based · not lab tested

HP Poly · HP maintains a live Edge E family page, exact-model data sheet, setup hub and current PVOS release documentation. Those records do not establish local inventory, remaining support period, provider approval, compatibility or the build installed on a particular phone.

Identify the E300 before assigning family features

Record the bottom label, exact product number, region, MAC address and installed PVOS. The E300 has a 3.5-inch color display and eight physical line keys. It does not inherit Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or expansion-module support from another Edge E model.

A live family page or current data sheet does not establish local inventory, provider approval or the hardware and software on a desk.

Separate eight buttons from 32 paginated assignments

PVOS can map E300 keys 1–8, 9–16, 17–24 and 25–32 across four pages. A position can be a line or feature and is not proof of a separate SIP identity, subscription or simultaneous call.

Capture page, key, category, label, value, configuration owner and observed state for each required control.

Prove the wired path before SIP

The E300 has two Gigabit Ethernet ports and no Wi-Fi. Verify PoE or approved local power, LAN-versus-PC cabling, link, LLDP or DHCP discovery, voice VLAN, address, gateway, DNS, NTP and provisioning reachability in order.

A powered display or Ethernet link does not prove registration, signaling or two-way media.

Keep USB-C and headset evidence local

The USB-C port can support documented media or storage functions, while RJ9 and electronic hook-switch paths depend on the installed accessory and configuration. Inventory the headset, cable or adapter, selected audio route and power source.

Attachment, enumeration, answer, mute, volume, hang-up and two-way audio are separate checks.

Treat PVOS 8.6.1 as a release record

HP lists PVOS 8.6.1 with an August 2026 release date. Preserve the authoritative provider or administrator, current and target builds, release notes, artifact identity, configuration backup, certificate state, pilot and rollback before change.

A download, reboot or current support page does not prove installation, approval or restored calls.

Pilot the complete E300 workflow

Test cold boot, power recovery, authoritative provisioning, every required key page, registration renewal, inbound and outbound identity, hold, transfer, voicemail indication, DTMF, headset routing, two-way media, restart persistence and the approved emergency workflow.

No E300 phone, accessory, firmware, platform, registration, call or emergency workflow was tested for this reference.
