Treat the PM200 as an accessory

The PM200 adds a contact and function surface to a compatible desk phone. It is not a standalone SIP handset, DECT base or extra carrier channel. Start by confirming the host model: the current product page identifies the P330 and P370. Do not assume every P-Series phone accepts it.

Count physical keys and stored entries separately

The console has twenty physical BLF/speed-dial keys with three pages, giving sixty paged entries. Sangoma documents up to six consoles, but that maximum is not a recommendation for every reception desk. Arrange the most frequent destinations on the first visible page and test a new receptionist’s ability to find them during a live-call simulation.

Plan power before adding a second console

The technical guide says the phone can power one PM200 and each additional console requires a 12-volt adapter. Its maximum-consumption field is still TBD, so this record deliberately leaves wattage unverified. Obtain an exact supported power plan for the selected phone, console count and adapters instead of filling a PoE calculator with a guessed per-console number.

Prove the subscribed state and action

Provision a small known contact set, verify that BLF changes follow actual calls, and test the button action during idle and active-call states. A correct label with a stale lamp points toward subscription or provisioning work, not necessarily a faulty display. Check restart recovery and the documented platform/module prerequisites before duplicating the desk configuration.
