- Preserving the original caller ID depends on the PBX, trunk and receiving service; the phone cannot guarantee it.

Put it into practice
Practise both transfer types with three extensions. Confirm when the original caller is held and when the transferring phone leaves the conversation. Then agree a fallback for a recipient who cannot take the call.
