Freeze one E60 attempt and first symptom
Record timestamp, camera and system labels and versions, host or codec, provider mode, USB or IP-LLN mode, cable and power source, switch or injector, camera count, selected input, cover, orientation, LED pattern, framing mode and the first failure. Classify it as power, enumeration, pairing, selection, privacy, motion, framing, update or meeting-transport failure.
Preserve authorized logs and screenshots before moving cables, unpairing, resetting or updating. A generic camera failure report hides the first divergent owner.
Prove power and connection mode first
For USB, confirm a data-capable USB 3.0 Type-B path and operating-system or room-system enumeration. Isolate the port, cable, extension and hub. For Ethernet, prove the exact PoE source and link. A powered camera or reachable address does not prove IP-LLN pairing, active input or USB video.
Do not connect USB and IP-LLN simultaneously. Record which mode the camera and room system currently own before changing topology.
Validate IP-LLN version, pairing and provider limits
For IP-LLN, confirm the system and E60 meet the documented minimum transition versions, then preserve discovery, pairing and connected-device state. Unpair before moving the camera to another system or back to USB.
Check the exact codec and provider mode. G62 does not power E60 from its LLN port, while the G7500 LLN path does. Supported camera counts differ across Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms and Poly Video Mode. A network link is not proof that the selected combination is supported or active.
Separate cover, orientation, LEDs and selected input
Remove the physical cover only when authorized and record camera orientation and both LEDs. Use the documented pattern to distinguish off, startup, awake, standby, update and pairing. Then confirm the E60 is the active input and that a local preview exists.
A room-facing camera, white power LED or local preview does not prove meeting transmit. Follow the selected input through the client or provider mode to far-end receipt.
Separate motion, AI detection and room framing
If video exists, test manual pan, tilt and zoom separately from group framing and presenter tracking. The fixed AI lens can detect within its published 107-degree field to drive the optical camera, but detection, movement, framing and transmitted image are separate stages.
Check mounting, sight lines, lighting, occlusion, presenter path and presets from each required room position. Published zoom and large-room positioning are planning inputs, not proof of one installation.
Correct the first layer and run a bounded retest
Correct only the first demonstrated owner: power class, cable or hub, USB enumeration, incompatible simultaneous mode, stale pairing, unsupported codec or provider combination, active-input selection, privacy cover, mount, lighting, framing configuration or an authorized version step.
Repeat power, enumeration or discovery, pairing, selected input, preview, manual motion, framing, meeting transmit, far-end receipt, leave, reboot and recovery. Validate audio separately because E60 is camera-only. No E60, host, codec, room, cable, hub, switch, injector, network, firmware, update, meeting, image, media stream or call was inspected or tested for this diagnostic.
