Why this is useful
Follow the chain from an Endpoint Manager template to an extension/MAC mapping and a redirect service that tells the phone where to fetch its configuration. Firmware slots and model-specific templates make the demonstration especially useful beside the existing manual-registration lesson. The aim is to understand provisioning ownership and scope before automating changes across many phones.
Applicability
LegacyFreePBX 101 v15, part 12, using a Sangoma S500. Menus, portal workflows, supported devices and licensing belong to that version.
Keep in mind
- Replace the demonstrated default phone-admin password with a strong managed secret.
- HTTPS provisioning protects configuration transport; it does not by itself configure SIP TLS or encrypted media.
- Own or administer the MAC addresses you claim in a redirect service. Do not copy the hosted network exposure, ports or credentials without a deployment plan.
- License prices and supported firmware shown in the video are historical.
Before you watch
A non-production FreePBX system, an authorized Sangoma phone and ownership of the relevant provisioning account.
Put it into practice
On a spare device, map model, MAC, extension, template and provisioning URL. Test one template, confirm the phone fetches the expected configuration, and verify calling and admin credentials before a wider rollout.
