Yealink WH63: connect the base and learn the controls

Why this is useful
A hands-on orientation covers the WH63’s computer and phone connections, interchangeable wearing options, touch volume control and mute indication. The presenter also distinguishes ordinary computer audio from supported remote answer/end behavior. It is a useful first step before troubleshooting a softphone whose sound works but headset buttons do not.
Applicability
Version-specificOriginal WH63 generation, demonstrated with a Teams version. This is not the WH63 E2 or Portable model.
Keep in mind
- A USB socket on a desk phone does not guarantee compatibility. Check the exact phone and firmware.
- Cortana references describe an older Windows/Teams environment. Current application behavior can differ.
- Sound and wearing comfort are the presenter’s impressions, not measurements from this review.
Before you watch
A charged WH63, its power supply and USB cables, and an approved calling application.
Put it into practice
Select the headset explicitly in your calling application. Test microphone, speaker and mute first, then test remote answer/end separately and note which integration supplies it.
