Asterisk AMI bridge technology is missing, suspended or selects differently

Trace one bridge-technology contradiction through release, module registration, manager framing, exact technology identity, suspension state, capability requirements and a separately observed bridge instance.

Freeze one node, transaction and contradiction

Record node, Asterisk build, process start time, loaded bridge modules, manager identity and permissions, unique ActionID, raw request and frames, local and UTC timestamps, expected exact technology name and the first failed boundary. Classify unknown or denied action, incomplete list, missing row, unexpected BridgeSuspended, rejected mutation, unchanged post-state, or a later bridge that selected differently.

Do not combine observations from clustered nodes or from before and after a restart. Registered technologies and active bridges are process-local runtime state.

Prove inventory completion before interpreting absence

Collect the initial response, every BridgeTechnologyListItem and the matching BridgeTechnologyListComplete; compare its ListItems with the collected item count. Verify manager authorization and collector event filtering or parsing before treating a missing row as an unloaded technology.

If the list never completes, report incomplete evidence. Socket silence is not a substitute for the documented terminal frame, and an empty completed list is not automatically a module or build diagnosis.

Resolve exact registration and capability identity

Compare the expected value with BridgeTechnology exactly, then inspect the authorized module inventory and build packaging. Keep technology name, module filename, BridgeType, BridgePriority, bridge application and bridge unique ID separate.

A module can be installed but not loaded, loaded but not register the expected technology, or register a technology whose capabilities do not satisfy a requested bridge. Repair the first demonstrated release, packaging, module or registration boundary.

Verify a mutation as three separate observations

For BridgeTechnologySuspend or BridgeTechnologyUnsuspend, retain the exact request and manager response. Then issue a new, complete list transaction and inspect only the exact technology row. Finally, under the deployment's authorized change plan, observe a subsequently created bridge separately.

A success response does not prove the row changed. A changed BridgeSuspended flag does not prove which alternative a new bridge will select. An existing bridge remaining on a now-suspended technology is the documented behavior and should not be destroyed merely to make the inventory look consistent.

Explain a different selection without claiming media success

For a disputed new bridge, retain requested bridge capabilities, creation path, timestamp, bridge unique ID, reported technology and channel membership. Check whether candidate technologies were registered, unsuspended and capable at creation time. Avoid converting numeric priority into an unconditional selection rule.

Bridge membership indicates a potential media relationship. Direct media, holding behavior, muting, recording, transcoding, endpoint state and packet flow can still change the actual path. Prove those layers independently.

Correct the first owner and run one bounded verification

Assign one owner: Asterisk release or package, bridge module load, AMI authorization, event framing, collector parser, exact technology identity, suspension state, capability request, bridge-creation path or media path. Prefer unsuspending the intended technology or reverting the approved change over broad restarts or destructive bridge actions.

Repeat the complete inventory and, only within the authorized maintenance plan, one new-bridge workflow while existing calls remain separately protected. No PBX, bridge technology, bridge, channel, packet, media frame, endpoint or live call was tested for this diagnostic.
